is it 100hz?

Finally justification for what I have been telling people since I bought one - Its the best 37" LCD on the markey bar none. The build quality is outstanding, no plastic feet in sight, just heavy duty glass.

I managed to get mine from John Lewis for £750 with a 5 year Guarantee! Beat that for value

Fantastic TV, shows HD and SD pictures better than my previous Hitachi LCD TV.

(However be aware this TV is one of a growing number that has an HDCP issue with SKY HD. This will cause the TV to go blank for a couple of seconds every time you change channel. Very annoying for a new TV.)

I bought one of these TVs from Selfridges and was impressed with picture. But on closer inspection I noticed a buzzing sound coming form rear of TV. I returned the TV assuming it was faulty. I then purchased another cheaper form internet.Lo and behold the noise is there aswell.I called Philips and asked if they where aware of the noise to which the replied No... but said it is normal to have some noise from set...I’m actual fact I could hear the noise from other side of room when programs went a little quiet.Im in the process of sending this set back now, So all in all I would not recommend this set at all. It is actually extremely annoying to think that that Philips dint recognize Th buzzing sound as a problem...Keep well away

Force,

I have just took delivery of this TV & have noticed the same buzzing noise as mentioned by gamepoint1 (below). Can you tell me if you have a similar problem? It certainly is annoying if you have the TV at a lower volume.

Returned mine to John Lewis, real shame as I really liked the style & features of the TV. Just contemplating what to go for next, might stick to the old faithful Panasonic had 3 of their TV’s in the past with no problems at all.

Bought this model in August 08 from John Lewis after several months research in the 37-42 inch market. Was mightily unimpressed with the SD performance of most sets I saw, such as the Sony 40W4000 and the Samsung sets, but the Philips is a phenonemal all rounder. SD is decent, as is PS3 gaming, and some blu ray is stunning - Quantum of Solace is awesome. Having said that, it takes alot of playing with the numerous settings to get a good picture. As someone new to the flatscreen world, I have found that difficult, and would be most interested in what settings people use on this model for SD, gaming,DVD, and Blu Ray. I note that there are potential problems with Sky HD - worrying as I have just ordered it!Cheers

JSTORM, I havent heard any such buzzing. Real shame if this forces you to return your set.

Must be a bad batch. Gutted for you!Hope it gets sorted

SGB2008 - did you get your Sky HD problem sorted? I have just registered for it but there are a fair amount of complaints around regarding Philips and Sky HD problems. Philips say its Sky's fault due to new firmware. Passing the buck? Who knows, but I cant be bothered with forking out for HD and then the channels going blank randomly! beachgoer - this model is not 100hz

Hi guys,I have to agree with jstorm and gamepoint1.At the moment I am in talks with philips shop, they are sending technician to my place tomorrow to find out where is the problem, but I can tell you now,I am regreting this purchase.I will update my story tomorrow.By the way, that buzzing is really annoying.

Hi,I said that I will give you an update on my "buzzing" story,I did not forget, just I am still in talks with "them",technician though, came to my place and he admit that it is the TV which is buzzing, not my head Smile,I will post next update as soon as I will have any news.

My only advice do not buy this TV!!!

I bought mine in October last year and have had nothing but problems, it has been back to the repair shop THREE times and Philips will not exchange! The problem is the same everytime the TV will not come out of standby - the turnaround from any Philips repair centre is supposed to be 15 working days but this in reality it will be 20 days (a month)!

Philips have had my TV more than I have in the last 6 months!

Buy Sony, Panasonic, Samsung or any other brand but NOT Philips!
