£635? This telly is widely available from reputable retailers for under £500. A quick Google shopping search will show this - at under £500 (including a 5 year guarantee at some places) surely the Pana would get awarded a higher rating?
I have compared this TV considerably with other 32 inch Tv's in shops recently.
During these comparisons, it has become very clear that there is not one "clear winner" amongst them, as some do certain things very well, but are let down in other areas.
Eg The Samsung B450 has a great punchy picture but as soon as you move off axis the picture deteriorates into a misty fog.The B650 has too shiny a screen making for annoying reflections. The B550 and B530 were pretty good.
Oddly, I note how off axis viewing is not even mentioned in the review for this TV. The IPS alpha panel fitted to the S10 is vastly superior in off axis viewing to almost any 32 inch on the market. The matt screen helps with nullifying annoying reflections.
Secondly I agree with the reviewer about the S10's clean whites. Again I think this is down to the IPS panel. Other LCD Tv's I have seen have a "white overload" effect, looking like someone has poured white paint over the area in question. THe Panasonic Viera's again I feel are superior in this respect, holding on to peak whites and not letting the whites spill over into adjoining areas.
I was "underwhelemed" with the Sony V5500, although it was good I was surprised to see large amounts of mosquito snoise, and the blacks looked misty to me.
The Samsungs look good at first inspection, having a bright and sharp picture, although the more you look the more you find things I didn't like. THe reds have a slightly orange tinge I could not correct for, the whites are over loaded slightly giving that "over white" effect, qnd the greens have a flourescent quality.
In conclusion, whilst the S10 doesn't have the "best picture" (there is no such thing in the world of 32 inch LCD's)I found it to have the "least worse" LCD artefacts. Ie off axis viewing, white over load, low mosquito noise, true reds, natural "non-flourescent" greens. And with it's softer picture i found the S10 to be the least fatiguing TV to watch for long periods of time, And by the way I don't have anything to do with Panasonic!
Comments
Not necessarily, given that its performance was decidedly average in some areas.

Okay, I stand corrected! Should it not be reviewed at the lower price anyway, even to just reflect how average the screen is?
