Having heard this system several times in electrical retail stores, it has never failed to impress me with it's sound quality...to a degree. This system was once in my top 5 favourite all-in-one systems to purchase at one point.
The overall sound quality is very crisp and bright with a nice clean output at normal listening levels...however, this system is badly let down when it comes to cranking the volume up somewhat.
Listening to this system with the volume levels just over half way tends to distort the speakers very badly to an extent of being unlistenable. The system itself is very easy to use and would be ideal for a bedroom/ kitchen or study where power is less important and will certainly deliver superior crisp clear audio quality within these smaller environments.
This is a cracking quality entry level system for anyone on a tight budget, but there are far better speakers than the supplied ones that come with the system.

I bought one of these for £200, and I am mighty impressed! Sound quality is great for the money, we are using as a kitchen/diner music source.
Plugged my Ipod touch in, and brilliant, sounds great, but was limited to the songs on the touch....Enter Simplify Media! A free app from the Apple store and I can stream my entire CD library over wifi to the Touch (as opposed to songs on the touch) in the dock so I have my 500+ CD collection literally at hand !
So pleased that I ordered a second Onkyo dock that I will plug into a Bose Soundwave which has a dodgy CD transport and stream the library to the up stairs too!
So the Simplify Media app, turns any wifi ipod into a great sounding streaming media end point and coupled with the Onkyo, a greatsounding 2nd system worth every single penny!
