The Marantz is now better value, and at this price its combination of precision and detail means it deserves five stars

the best looking unit by far at any price, vert clear precise sound..... but way too bright for me, even paired with warm speakers so i took it back for a refund.... notice hughes were doing nad cd and amp ( with master remote and mp3 line in etc for a total of £220 so a no brainer. absolutely beautiful sound.

I bought the unit over a month ago and can't fault it for sound quality - it plays music back as it was originally recorded and if it sounds clinical, that is probably due to the original recording the reviewers listened to and nothing to do with the sound circuity which is very clean and free from coloration. There is a tone control if you want to reduce the "brightness". I have tried it with various speakers from cheap to expensive and it is a very capable unit. The remote control is not its strong point though and one annoying feature is that any operation from the front panel does not inform  the remote control circuity, which takes getting used to. The 3 Aux inputs are very useful. All in all I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it.

Hi,

I have the MCR502, with the default LS702 speakers, any review on this pair up?

Many Thanks
