The Majik LP12 package is great value and brings LP12 ownership to a wider audience without any major compromise

My Dad has one of theses from the 80's and it still sounds superb. I am trying to convince him to give it to me!

The biggest competitor it faces will of course be the hundreds of used LP12's on the market- two grand buys some very nice examples.

Linn turntables, arms and cartridges really do benefit from the experience of a decent Linn dealer who can set things up properely. The Linn Basik tonearm has been out of production for a long time and had replaced by at least two generations of the Aikto tonearm. Like all companies, the build quality has improved with each new generation of product.

The Linn is expensive but beautifully made. The project tonearm is a cracker and the supplied Linn Adikt cartridge is light years ahead of the old K9.

There are some very good used examples but you need to be very careful. A used deck given a decent service by an experienced dealer is money well spent.

I like this turntable but i think it is way way over priced, my brother used to own a AR turntable he bought the linn basic tone arm and a k9 cartridge it took him ages to set it up and after about 12 months the damping on the tone arm must have worn out and he had to lower it manualy, my point is that if you are spending a lot of money on hifi especially tone arms you wouldn't expect the damping to fail after 12 months. just hope the linn turntables are built better.

I've had an LP12 for 20 years and it remains a fantastic piece of kit today - overall a great investment

Way over priced . Linn inflation since the 80`s is an uneasy pill to swallow.
