For just £40, this conditioner is a no-brainer and a bona fide system booster

I have one and tried it in a blind test with my concierge plugging it in and out.  I couldn't hear the slightest difference!  System is Marantx CD6004, PM 6004, KEF Q500s.

Chris

I have one of these powering my sub with an isol8 mains which works well but i have taken the other off my amp as i found it restricted the sound a little. I have put it to use with my tv, hd box and ps 3 all of which are powered with russ andrews mains cable, tv and ps3 with the very good powermax plus hd box with the even better powerkord. Seems to serve me better here. One thing i would like to know for future upgrades sake is if the russ andrews powerblocks/links would have similar effects on my amp or if something like tha twould be a more suitable upgrade.

i have a sony str da 1200 es av receiver

yes i have used lindy mains Block as well. It does clean up the sound but compresses BASS & DYNAMICS.

Ok, so I just received my Tacima today and thought i'd report back with some more info...... It appears this device has SURGE PROTECTION......... The packaging description reads: "6 way mains conditioner & radio frequency interference filter. This unit contains a powerful mains conditioning filter which will reduce or eliminate mains interference coming through the mains electric supply, enhancing your sound and picture quality. MAINS CONDITIONER, SURGE PROTECTION, 2 METER SCREENED MAINS LEAD TO PREVENT RFI..... NO NEON INDICATOR'S. These can inject noise into your hi fi and affect the sound quality" Hope you find this info useful. Thanks

Don't listen to Analogic above/below (wheres he gone?), considering the equipment he says he owns he should know better....... This product is for components such as cd players / bluray / dvd players / PS3 / xbox / lcd / plasma's / PC / montors / router / battery charger / dc-adapers etc etc... If your planing on buying this for a high-end high power amplifier then think again because all it will do is restrict the current flow to those components and the results won't be great. I had a Bryston pre/power amplifier (BP26DA + 4BSST) and PMC IB2 setup until i sold it all recently..... The Bryston manual specifically states not to use mains filters. I've had one of these for a while now and I have my PC, router, monitor, cheap all-in-one Denon suround sound amp plugged into it and I had great results used with those components and it helps to reduce interference and crosstalk. When I had the Brystons not once did I think about plugging them into this thing due to the fact that the power amp could draw 2.5kw at full output which is possible with dynamic music at high volume. If I had a mains re-generator (mini substation) then it'd be a different story, but for what this product is and how much it costs its a good upgrade for components that don't require unrestricted mains supply. If you have some interference going on in your system eg: TV / DVD / CD PLAYER etc then this contraption could solve the problem but don't buy it for your modern surround amp because they are quite powerful these days and this will degrade the sound in most circumstances. I've just bought another one of these and thats why Im here now as I was wondering what everyone else's opinions were.. I got mine off a famous auction site by searching for tacima mains filter and you can get it for a few quid less than the price above.. Hope this helps...... Just my 2 cents

Designed for Hi-Fi and Home Cinema Systems the LINDY 6 Way Mains Conditioner Power Strip provides six sockets with surge protection and mains conditioning.

Tech specs says number of sockets 4,  the picture clearly shows 6...   Can I have this months Picky Pickster award please?

could u tell me if this has surge protection. thanks

Have just purchased this from Lindy and it is a rebadged version of the Tacima CS929/BP. It even says Tacima CS929/BP on the back. I could have saved £10 if i'd have done an internet search!!

I have just removed this from my system, thank God. It degraded the sound quality, squashed the sound and did wierd things to the bass.  I have plugged my Nottingham Analogue TT into the mains, and my Art Audio preamp and Perraux monoblocs are back into the  cheap multiplug I got from the supermarket. The sound has improved greatly.  It should be noted all the manufacturers of the above equipment are sceptical of mains conditioners.

I was happy to risk £40 for something that didn't affect the sound and gave me a surge protector. Hey, I needed a power bloc. But I did't expect the degradation.  I will treat What HiFi reviews with a great measure of scepticism from now on.

The Lindy is now on my Plasma and 5.1 system.  I think it has made the sound worse there as well.
