I found it extremely frustrating trying to actually see the quality of image on this TV, BUT recently, managed to find a Currys who had the screen on display (after searching 11 shops).
The strangest thing was that comparing with virtually all the other screens in the shop, which had fairly consistent blackness and brightness levels, the LG 50PG7000 was way out - the blacks were really grey. I could have understood a slight different, but this was significant.
I spent 30 minutes trying to adjust the TV's levels and settings, assuming that it had been setup wrong or the out of the box settings were incorrect, but simply could not get the blacks away from grey. Perhaps it was a poorly screen, but it concerned me enough that I am now back to the drawning board on my TV choice - make sure you actually see the screen before you buy (the TV itself however is an awesome piece of design!).
