    Best in small rooms

The KHT1005 uses KEF’s Uni-Q technology: here, a 15mm dome tweeter sits at the centre of a 7.5cm midrange driver, for better integration and superior ‘off-axis’ performance. So even if you’re sitting off to one side of your living room, the KEFs deliver an even, cohesive and thoroughly enjoyable sound.

Of course, satellite speakers need some low-end beef to support them – here it comes from the PSW1000 active sub, with 100 watts and a downward-firing 20cm drive unit.

This is a cracker of a system, with clean, crisp treble, an accurate midrange, and decent bass for a system in its class, and in smaller rooms it can definitely deliver the home cinema thrills. What’s more, it’s at least a passable two-channel listen. Value, good sound and style? Looks like a winner to us!
