I hope it can make the coverage broader and also more channel is good
Price on the Humax has already dropped to £149.95 at Richer Sounds.
BRING ON THE 500GB PVR!
Looks a great box, but I think I shall look at alternative units as they appear. The prices will also drop as competition gets stronger.
I was an early adopter of this box. It does give great HD pictures and the PVR function is good. However the SD picture is substandard and not comparable with my TVs built in tuner. After having this box for seven months it has overheated and gone kaput. I have sent it back for a refund. I would not buy it again, the poor SD performance relegates it to an incomplete product that I believe was rushed into production [three firmware updates, HD sound and SD problems still not resolved].
also you have to remember if your on the Crystal palace transmitter in that the HD broadcast is low output and even though you get a perfect reception on all other channels you may not get the HD to kick in epically if your anywhere near gatwick airport of reigate as the reigate transmitter is on the same frequency as the the Crystal place HD output
Whoever idea that was needs removing from that job as he hasn't got a clue and is causing many problem's not only to the TV dealers but also the public
I bought a Humax HD-Fox T2 Freeview HD receiver on the recommendation of What HiFi.
If you have this box you will notice that when you press the - speaker ? - button it shows that the box always defaults to 2 left audio channel mono after changing program channels.
This can be heard audibly, when you change to L and R stereo the sound spreads out across the speakers, but always resets to 2 left channel mono.
I listen to a lot of stereo radio on Freeview, as Freeview radio should sound a lot better than DAB but 2 left channel mono is very noticeable on a high quality stereo system.
This is proving to be most frustrating, I have tried all the preferences and software update.
Humax have known about this bug for a couple of months and their help desk say that a lot of people have phoned about it - but no fix!
I would not recommend buying this box with such an annoying bug.
