Unexpectedly good at this price. The analogue output sounds quite a bit better to my ears versus the V-DAC's output when connected via digital coax.

Sorry, that should read '..than the entry level NAD C515BEE...'

This CD player is a significant hi-fi bargain but it deserves to be fed into a much better amplifier than its partnering 340A.  Used with a NAD C325BEE and Quad 11L speakers (and quality Chord Co. cables) it gives a detailed, musical sound with a huge dynamic range and superb soundstaging. I find the sound dynamic but I'm not sure why WHFS&V found it 2 dimensional when the textures get thicker.  In my set-up and room the soundstage remains very 3D whatever is being played and this CD player never strays into harshness or loses control.  In operation the transport is very quiet and the unit is extremely well built for a budget player.  The excellent Navigator style remote control adds to the unexpected feeling of luxury.  I purchased this player as a stop gap, but I'm actually struggling to see the need for it to be replaced.  Its better built and more convincing than the entry level NAD C315BEE to these ears.
