I bought these ATH AD 700's through amazon for a really great price after trawling through many reviews of headphones including WHF's own. They work perfectly and sound great listening to lossless files through my ipod.All genres of music sounds balanced, with detail aplenty and satisfying bass makes for a very enjoyable listen. "plasticky" certainly not,comfortable without doubt. Even at full price these headphones would be a great buy. I wish I'd had them when I had real HiFi ( sob sob sniff sniff)
As the 5-star rating suggests, these are really nice headphones.Just be aware that even for open-backed headphones, these are very "leaky", so if you share your space with others, just make sure that any noise doesn't become an annoyance to them!
No "thumping" bass - which is just how it should be - though there is enough extension to satisfy when required, and the overall quality is great quality.
Construction seems sufficient for good reliability - if a bit "plasticky" - but the money has been spent on the important stuff.
Comfort is superb - these headphones are big (but light)and you'll probably get strange looks, but the size spreads what pressure there is over a wider area of your head, keeping things comfortable (and cool) for extended listening.
It took me a long while to take the plunge and buy these, having looked at virtually everything else on the market - save yourself some time, and just buy them!
