Capable and covetable, the CD37 looks and sounds like a premium product from the start

What amp and speakers are you using with the CD37?  I've got a Marantz pearl lite and, strange as it may seem, I'm finding it a bit hard sounding particularly with solo violin pieces, and was thinking about auditioning one of these.

Recently invested in a CD37 & absolutely love it.

Demo'd rival Cyrus & Naim CDPs but my ears preferred the CD37's more 'realistic' presentation of jazz & classical instruments. (Also wary of Cyrus CDP's current reputation for poor reliability.) And the CD37 is SACD compatible, a format that Cyrus & Naim eschew.

I know it’s a cliché, but I'm hearing detail, textures & tone from familiar CDs that I've never heard before (now appreciate that the likes of Massive Attack, Radiohead, Brian Eno, Jordi Savall et al make much effort with their recordings). Also enjoying the CD37's impressive depth & separation, plus significantly reduced vocal sibilance & improved timing.

As an example of the last mentioned, when previously listening to Pierre Hantaï's harpsichord version of Bach's Goldberg Variations, the playing sometimes sounded slightly clumsy. However, the CD37 renders Hantaï's playing as beautifully smooth & flowing.

And as for the SACD playback, it's a case of 'where have you been all my life' re SACD's SQ.

IMHO, the CD37 is an absolute must if you’re currently demo'ing CDPs.
