You're right, the_lhc, each prize goes to a different individual, not the whole lot to one person.
Call me Mr Idiot but the way the guff reads it doesn't suggest that one person will win all the prizes, rather that each prize will go to a different individual, no?
I think any normal person's head would explode with excitement getting all of that in one go. Or at least throw up a little.
I'm just join now, but I will be THE ONE. That's it!
It's mine all mine Mwahahahaha!!!
i think iv got 0.00000001% chance in winning so i am going to win the lotto on the weekend then pml
I can just imagine winning one of the top prizes and getting a clip round the ear off the other half for 'lying' about winning it in an online competition ha!!
Last chance: competition closes tonight.
What!! No VCR???? How am I going to play my Jane Fonda workout tapes????
MattPerkins, if you try entering again and a message comes up saying you've already entered, then you'll know your first entry went through OK.
And for future reference, there is a confirmation message when you first enter, but it appears a bit lower down the page.
Hi, I can't tell if my competition entry has gone through ok, if I'm here does that mean "yes"?
Confused.. :S
i wouldn't sell any of it....except the sony stuff. good luck everyone.
As much as I like you all the prizes are just to good to let me want anyone else to win them other than me ....
Ho ..Ho.. Ho...
In these uncertain times I can well imagine selling on a prize. It's all very well having a shiny new piece of kit but what use is it if you can't afford the electricity to run it.
Good luck to all, just hope I get a piece of the action also.
Great stuff - good luck to all but hope I win.
ITS GOT MY NAME ON IT!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
@ Andrew - thanks for clearing that up for me. I know it might sounds like sour grapes on my part, but the whole saga just touched a nerve. I read about a competition in a disability magazine to win a mobility scooter which was won and sold on - it's just not right, but I will get off the moral high ground.
I promise to behave and congratulate the next batch of winners of the 2010 Products of the Year, whatever they do with them
)
GREAT PRIZES. WOULD LOVE TO WIN
mivvykins,
Am fully aware of the situation regarding the Naim competition prizes, but while I share your dismay that they were sold, rather than won by someone who would enjoy them, the winner has the right to do what they want with their winnings.
And we're not about to limit the competition to subscribers – who's to say they won't sell on their prizes, too – or introduce an entry fee, which would put the competitions into a whole realm of gaming law.
@ Andrew Everard - the Winner was Heather Knotts aka Sollydog as posted in another thread. Either 'Arry really is Sollydog's partner and sold them on for her, or he's winding us all up but by the tone of his post, I doubt it.
JJBomber mentioned on the 28th October the Naim prizes had been sold on Ebay, and with the price they made. Take a look but get the hankies ready - made me choke to think that's where they ended up.
Shame, I'm sure there are lots of us readers who would have Naim as pride of place in their homes.
Andrew I know there is little you can do about it except maybe to make such high value prizes open to subscribers only and at 5 an entry extra. That would deter all but the serious fans
would love and share 'em!
You mean he's entering What Sound's competitions too?
I didn't realise What Sound's competitions were being used as a financial support system for an ailing business (see Nov 3rd, Arry's comment). I hope these fab prizes go to someone who will actually want and use them, not flog them on Ebay. Tsk!
Shame on you Arry, go to your bank next time your company needs financial support rather than find time to enter competitions to prop your business up and leave the prizes to someone who actually wants to use them. If you have to enter competitions to win things to sell to support your business again, maybe it's time to take a look at your business and ask yourself if it's worth entering competitions to keep it afloat?
Just what I need to HI-bernate til Spring! I'd never leave the house with all this to keep me entertained.
Here's hoping for a shower of Prizes !!
( If I'm lucky ...always been an optimist
And Not Only but Also !! Wishing you all at What Hi Fi a Great Christmas ( with some snow...not too much though
and to all you out there a Very Happy New Year !!
Merry christmas one and all
Good luck to everyone, but hope I win something!!!
a chistmas dream come true?
@Clare Newsome - Hi Clare, you were of course right - one of the answers is correct - it seems for some reason I couldn't perform a simple sum that day.
And for the record, I saw no offence whatsoever in your reply or its wording; in fact I was very grateful for your suggestion. Thanks for coming back to me.
