Big Jeffery - Its fairly obvious you've got it wrong, because the Philip 42PFL9600 that they've been 'bigging-up' in a massive way for months, is actually really hard to get your hands on. So it can't be a shop based conspiracy.
The only thing I would have loved to have seen in the awards was a small section on the 2 runners up for each award (that way I could see what came in beind the Philips in 40-42" as �1500 is just out of my budget)!!!!!!!

Im with Big Jeffery. Over the past year of reading the magazine I have been having the growing and uncomfortable feeling that there is less independence and impartiality and more of the "we've teamed up with Amazon".
Every single Award winner is solely chosen on its performance-per-pound credentials, Big Jeffery. We chose the products purely on which offer the best value for consumers, regardless of where/how they're sold (as long as you can actually buy them!)
This story - like the Hot Deals section in our Forums - is just to help people interested in buying products find a good deal.
I'm sorry you could come to such a false and mean-spirited conclusion about something designed in the consumer's interest, from start to finish.
Am I the only one getting a bit worried about the direction What HiFi is going in here? Actively promoting award winners and the websites you should buy them from does begin to make you wonder if the items winning awards are actually the best or just the ones whose manufacturer / dealer has "done the most" to ensure they win?
