UPDATE: Samsung to expand Crystal Design TV range at IFA with home networking models
UPDATE: We've had Samsung visit our offices to show-off the company's 750 Series screen, and very nice it looked, too. We'll be running a review very soon but in the meantime, we have some updated specs on the TV.
The screen will have a Full HD, 1920 x 1080 resolution, with a claimed 70,000:1 contrast ratio. The 100Hz TV uses Samsung's 'Ultra Clear' panel and boasts movie plus and game modes.
Elsewhere there are four HDMI 1.3 connections, a USB 2.0 input and of course that crucial DLNA connectivity. We look forward to getting to grips with one properly in the next few weeks...
Samsung will expand its Crystal Design series of flatscreen TVs next month with new LCD and plasma models offering LED backlighting and home networking capability.
The 750 and 950 Crystal Design sets can receive multimedia files from your home network and can also receive RSS feeds directly from the internet.
The 950 Series will be available in Platinum black and as well as multimedia connectivity, comes pre-loaded with digital content, has a USB connection, high-definition capability and LED backlighting.
The third series in the new TV line-up, the 780, has LED backlighting but not the multimedia connectivity of the 750 and 950 models.
All three ranges will share the slim design of the Series 6 Crystal Design sets. We've already tested the Samsung LE40A656 model, and a Series 7 plasma is due for launch in the UK in September.
Full details of the new sets are sketchy at the moment, but more will be revealed at the IFA Show in Berlin on August 29-September 3. We'll be there reporting live from the show here on whathifi.com.

I have read from unconfirmed sources that an LED backlit LCD panel will reduce power consumption by the order of 40-50W from conventional, contemporary backlight technologies - all other things being equal. Is anyone in the know, aware of the relevant values for the Samsung range please?
Here I am just about to order my Sony W4000 and I read Samsung are to launch three LED backlight Tvs,no doubt about it looks as if I have to wait a few more months,and wait for the reviews.
