09/11/09: NOW SOLD OUT
One of the best ways to tune your TV to get the best picture quality is to use any DVD with the built-in THX Optimizer. This is a set of test patterns that play through your DVD player to your TV screen to help you adjust colour, brightness and so on.
To use the THX Optimizer properly you need a special pair of THX glasses (pictured) to carry out the calibration. We're offering them for just £6 including postage and packaging on ebay.
They're a great way to help you calibrate your TV's picture to perfection, and can be used in conjunction with a number of DVD discs which include the THX Optimizer: all six Star Wars tiles, Titanic, Toy Story (1 and 2) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, among others.
Find out how to use the THX Optimizer and calibrate your TV in our special THX blog.

Hi Andy/Andrew,
I bought a pair of these on Ebay but for some reason the payment process didn't follow normal procedures and there is no way to contact you via Ebay so I'm a bit stuck. Can you help please?
Cheers.

As long as they are the THX mastered versions, it'll be there. In the language or sound menus, I think...
Andy Clough October 9, 2009 14:15
AFAIK it should be on the original ones - have you had a look at your discs to see if it's there?

So how long has this THX Optimizer been included on DVD's? I have a copies of Star Wars Ep1 and 2 that I bought when they were first released. Will these have the Optimizer on them or is it only on new re-releases?
