Pioneer may have decided to stop making its superb Kuro TVs, but it's still intending to remain a force in the home cinema market.

We've just received an invitation to its 2009 product launch on July 14th, at which the firm's Japanese engineers will present a string of new products.

New models to be demonstrated at Air Studios in London include the Pioneer SC-LX82 multichannel receiver (presumably the replacement for the SC-LX81), the BDP-LX52 Blu-ray player and the company's Series 8 speakers.

We already know the BDP-LX52 will cost £550, can decode all HD audio formats internally and has BD-Live compatibility.

Further details remain under wraps for now, but we'll bring you all the info we can on the day.

WIll this beat the sony 5400es, we will have to see.

Yep, and just confirmed - no product pics for these from Pioneer yet. However, have had promise of all the Blu-ray players and receivers for test before our Awards.

It's just a grab from the PDF 'save the date' email! More pictures and info to follow as we have it - these products are so new most aren't even being previewed to the trade here at CEDIA.

I thought 'What Hi-Fi' position and relation with Pioneer would allow a bit better quality picture to illustrate this article ...

Would hope to see at least gold plated connections on the rear this time round...

Will be good to see how the lx82 fairs!
