Optoma has released two new projectors complete with integrated speaker systems. There's no DVD drive, as we've seen on previous Optoma all-in-one models but the GameTime GT-3000 and GT-7000 still deliver a portable projection system.

Built with gamers in mind, the projectors are lightweight and come complete with a purpose-designed backpacks in order to take your big-screen machine to different rooms or to a friend's house.

The gloss black GT-7000 boasts an HD-Ready resolution, claims a 4000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 1600 lumens brightness. There are '2.1' speakers on board – a stereo pair and a sub – and of course the backpack for moving it from one place to another.

Also released is the GT-3000, with an SVGA, 800 x 600 resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio and 2300 lumens brightness. This model also features integrated speakers – and backpack! – and comes in an 'ice white' finish.

The two projectors, which come with a remote control and Optoma's 'five year colour warranty', will sell for £500 and £350 respectively upon their release in October, which can't be bad for up to a 300in image, can it?

I don't really get this.

You can buy a good projector with better specs for under £250 online + a carry bag and speakers from Argos for £25 max. Total £275. Why would I want to buy a Gametime for £350? What am I paying the extra for, the name?
