Following its recent announcement of the availability of Version 1.5a firmware for its HDX digital music player, Naim has now introduced an iPhone/iPod Touch app allowing the control of the unit from anywhere on a home wireless network.

The Naim HDX App is available from the iTunes Apps Store, and will work with any HDX updated with the new firmware. It allows remote browsing of the stored music library, selection by album, artist, genre or even conductor or composer, and shuffle play.

Designed and coded in-house by Naim's software team, the app will also control the primary output of NaimNet Music Servers. A similar app for the NaimUniti will be available in the next few months, the company says.
