JVC has today announced its fresh line-up of AV products for 2009 at the company's European launch in Prague.

There are new TVs, micro systems, iPod docks, headphones and DVD home cinema packages, plus Blu-ray Disc home cinema packages and the company's first standalone Blu-ray player – all scheduled for release this year.

Leading from the front is the flagship LT-42WX70 LCD TV. The first model from the Xiview range, the Full HD 42in set will be joined by other sizes later in the year.

Set for a March release, the LT-42WX70 is just 43mm deep and weighs a back-friendly 13kg. It's capable of delivering 1080p/24fps video, boasts x.v. Colour and Deep Colour specification, and will come with a separate tuner box and optional speakers.

Freesat and Blu-ray media boxes
JVC has plans to make available a range of media boxes – from HDD PVR boxes, to Blu-ray and even Freesat HD-compatible units – but initially will release a standard digital TV unit.

Elsewhere in the world of TVs there's the LT-19DA1BJ HD-Ready LCD, plus 26in and 32in models in the DE1 range, which come complete with 160GB hard disk drives.

The LT-26DE1BJ and LT-32DE1BJ models should be available from next month, and are also both HD-Ready, 1366 x 768 resolutions.

Moving on to Full HD resolution TVs, you'll find the DR1 range in 32, 37 and 42in sizes, each boasting 1080p panels, 3 x HDMI inputs, USB connections and JVC's new Dynapix HD Picture Processing.

Finally in the world of TVs is the DV1 range, available in 37, 42 and 47in models, and sporting slim panels – from 94-119mm respectively – plus 1,000,000:1 claimed contrast ratios and plenty of JVC's picture processing technology.

April launch for JVC's first Blu-ray player
April is the scheduled release date for the XV-BP1 Blu-ray player, which will be a Profile 2.0 player capable of decoding all the HD audio codecs as well as all the expected BD specifications – more information on this as we get it.

The standalone player will be joined by two new Blu-ray-in-a-box systems, the NX-BD5B, a 2.1, 1080p, DTS-HD compatible, Profile 2.0 machine, and the NX-BD7B, a 5.1 system. Both sport smart touch-panel interfaces.

Also in the pipeline are three 2.1 home cinema systems, the NX-F30B, NX-F40B and the NX-F7, complete with wood cone speakers, and a DVD home-cinema-in-a-box, the UX-GN9V, complete with HDMI switching, motion sensitive controls and USB music recording.

More iPod mini systems on the way
Expect to see the NX-D4 iPod mini system towards the end of the year, too, promising twin iPod docks, iPhone-compatability and 1080p video output via HDMI, plus two new docks in time for summer.

Last but not least is a tasty selection of headphones, focusing on the budget end of the market.

The Gumy range – a huge seller across the world already, apparently – will be joined by the Gumy Air, Marshmallow (yes, really) and Flats range of comfortable, colourful, child-friendly earphones.

Then there's also the HA-FX66 Air Cushions range for the slightly more discerning customer, complete with 'powerful 8.5mm Neodymium driver units'.

Look out for more information, prices, and in time, reviews, on all these products as and when JVC chooses to unleash them. After a 4.30am start, we're off for a lie-down...
