This is the new HD Theatre 500 speaker system from Klipsch, designed to bring the company's 'high-output, low-distortion' performance down to newly-affordable prices, while at the same time being simple to set up and use.

The £500 system uses four sealed-box speakers, each with a 19mm horn-loaded tweeter and 6.5cm mid/bass unit, and a magnetically-shielded centre speaker using two of the same woofers.

The speakers come in a high-gloss piano black finish, and come  with adjustable wall-brackets providing 40-degree adjustment, while the centre channel's cradle base gives 45 degrees tilt.

The system is completed with a bass-reflex subwoofer, using a downward-firing 20cm driver and a rear-venting flared port.

Even more affordable is the HD Theatre 300: selling for £400, it has the same drivers as the HD Theatre 500, except the centre channel has a single woofer, and the subwoofer a 16.5cm driver.

Both systems are available now.
