InFocus releases £499 X9 HD-Ready projector

We're always eager to advocate the adoption of a projector in to any living room – provided you have the room – as there's really nothing quite like the big-screen home cinema experience.

And there's no longer the inhibiting factor of high cost: the InFocus X9 is just £499 and still packs in 720p, HD-Ready technology, an HDMI 1.3 input with DeepColor compatibility and a claimed 2500:1 contrast ratio and 1800 lumens brightness rating.

Designed for use in a table-top position, the compact X9 can also be used in a ceiling and rear projection positions, too. 

Clearly aimed at users in smaller rooms, the X9 has a short throw ratio, 1.55 - 1.7, enabling you to project a picture ranging from 0.7m to 9.1m from between 1m and 12m from the screen.

The InFocus X9 projector is due out in October.
