Humax fixes fan noise on its PVRs

17 NOV 2008
Humax PVR-9300T

We've had complaints on our Forums of certain Humax personal video recorders suffering from excessive fan noise, and now Humax has come up with a fix.

There will be over-the-air software upgrades to minimise fan noise for both the Humax PVR-9150T and PVR-9300T models.

The new Smart Fan Control software will keep fan noise to the minimum, says Humax, by ensuring the fan only switches on if the PVR exceeds a temperature outside of that necessary for safe operation and will switch off after a short period of time.

The upgrades will take place automatically, provided the PVRs are left in standby overnight, on the following dates:

Humax PVR-9300T: November 27th-29th

Humax PVR-9150T: December 5th-8th

All Humax PVRs manufactured since October 2008 already contain the Smart Fan Control software.
