Bush Blu-ray player on sale at Argos for £99.99

Now here's a bit of a bargain – the first sub-£100 Blu-ray player in the shape of Bush's £99.99 BD01, on sale now at Argos. It originally cost £300, then £150 and is only available at the new further reduced price until December 9th.
We've no idea if it's any good or not, and at that price we wouldn't expect miracles, but here's what we've managed to gather so far.
It supports playback of Region B Blu-ray discs, upscales to 1080p and 1080i, has HDMI connectivity and will play BD-Rom, DVD, CD, CD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/-RW discs. It will also support playback of JPEG, MP3 and WMA files.
The unit comes in black only, weighs 3.4kg and measures 5.5 x 43 x 28.5cm (hxwxd). We've put a call in to Bush's PR department to get more info, and have requested a review sample for our big Blu-ray feature in the February 2009 issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, on sale from January 7th.

The Bush is back at £97.86 again until December 16 at Argos, if anyone's interested...
Boys & Girls. I have also seen that MD are selling the sony bdps300 for £149.99!!!!!! WOW
Head down to your local Martin Dawes store and you can pick up a Sharp BD-HP20H for £99!
This is excellent news for Blu-Ray. It should tempt people who find it hard to part with £200 plus for a player. You know when a format is here to stay when Alba/Bush/Goodmans joins the party! I look forward to the review.
Turns out that although this player is labelled "Bush", it's an exclusive Argos product, produced by them rather than Bush's parent company Alba PLC. We've got one on order.
Funnily enough, we were talking about doing just that! If we don't hear back from Bush's PR by tomorrow, the plan is indeed to buy one and test it. So worry not, we're on the case.
Here here!! Well said Steve, this would be an ideal present for some of us to buy for xmas presents and seeing as the Feb issue will be out long after the offer has finished at Argos...
Surely the What Hi-Fi budget would stretch to £99.99 to buy a version for a quick review, rather than keeping us hanging with "We've no idea if it's any good or not, and at that price we wouldn't expect miracles".
