Please dont feed the trolls.
Since I started getting WHFSAV regularly about a year ago, my system has seen a major upgrade, all based on the reviews here, so I for one thank you for all your hard work (even the girlfriend can tell the difference!!!). And if you don't want your copy Leonard (when you get it), can I have it?? I'm having major difficulties finding it - you did ship it to Glasgow, didn't you?
I have to agree with the majority of people here that most of my system is based on the products listed in the awards editions past and present. However I should point out that my wife dreads it, as it invariably means I'll be upgrading something soon!
Just like to add that I too think you guys do a great job and for one appreciate the work you guys put in!!
Thank You!!
I always look forward to this issue as it's an excellent reference guide (although mine has yet to pop through the letterbox, hopefully tomorrow). Good work with the online awards site by the way. The web has been crying out for something like this for ages.
Have to disagree with Leonard. The awards issue is the one I absolutely, positively must get. And then refer to for the next 12 months and then keep for ever on a shelf. (Although it still hasn't turned up yet - something to look forward to tomorrow!)
I say, keep up the good work! I have been reading WHSAV for some 15 years now, and have generally based my system on your recommendations and happy have i been.
leonard, I would just like to add to Clare's comments (and I'm not on holiday). Several of us were up until late last night with the development team putting the Awards microsite together, and I was back on the site at 6am this morning publishing the list of winners and keeping everyone informed about what's going on.
If that's lazy journalism, then I think you might like to explain that to the rest of the team who have all, as Clare says, put in an enormous amount of time and effort to produce the Awards, both in print and online.
Clare - if your reading this, please stop and enjoy the rest of your holiday!!!! A massive thanks to everyone at WHFS&V for producing the Awards 2008. I personally find your reviews invaluable and to have a comprehensive round up of all the best buys out there is fantastic. Keep 'em coming ; )
Don't rise to ignorant comments like those that Leonard makes, what on earth would he know?
The more I think about it, the angrier I am at your comment, Leonard - the team worked many, many hours of (unpaid) overtime handled the vast amount of comparative Awards judging involved in getting this issue out.
We've also produced a dedicated Awards microsite, including video overviews, and are on hand to answer any of your questions.
'Lazy' is certainly not a word you can apply to us... I'll go away now, as i'm officially on holiday!
Actually, Leonard, every single product review for the Awards winners has been rewritten to reflect the very latest competition in the market - in other words, to put its win in complete context.
There are also 31 brand new first tests and full preview of our Show in the Awards issue.
And yes, it does come as part of your subscription - subscriber issues were despatched on Tuesday, so you should have received it today.
This is the issue I LEAST look forward to as it provides an opportunity for the journalists to get lazy & re print old reviews.
Fortunately it doesn't appear to be part of my subscription as a copy has not yet been delivered to me.
And you can now find the winner's list online here:
