The powers that be at Apple HQ have released the latest software update for the iPhone and iPod Touch, iOS 4.1.

Available free of charge by connecting your portable to iTunes, iOS 4.1 includes 'Game Center', 'high dynamic range' photos, iTunes TV show rentals and iTunes Ping.

Also new is the ability to upload HD videos to YouTube over wifi on the iPhone 4 and promised improvements to performance for the iPhone 3G.

Other fixes should see bugs ironed out with the Nike+iPod app and improvements to the Bluetooth performance.

Allow me to modify my previous comment,  the new OS has fixed the wireless connection problems I was having on my 2nd Gen iPod touch, however in doing so it has also Fubar'd the battery life,  I'm less happy than I thought I was...

OS4 has fixed the Wifi reception issues that OS3 caused on my ipod Touch ver2. So I'm happy Smile

I have found that My 3G is working a lot better with this new OS update. It actually responds to inputs.

I didn't think Apple ever needed to release fixes? Isn't that what Steve Jobs always used to say was a Microsoft problem?

I had a lot of reception issues with the 4, but the 'Bumper' has solved these. Great phone, couldn't (wouldn't want to) live without it!

over hyped rubbish, the reception issue i mean. had mine iphone 4 a little while now. No problems, except dropping it and smashing the back of it, took it to apple today, replaced for 25 quid (which i thought was reasonable) and only took 10 mins.

Loving the camera, the interface, it hasnt crashed yet either ( touch wood) great little piece of kit.

That's good, perhaps i might get one yet then.

Cheers for that.

TBH i had a 3gs now i have the 4 i haven't noticed any change in signal strength at all on orange??

my 3gs would drop calls every now and again but i've not had one drop on the 4

The ones that were reported when it first came out? Then they released a statement saying if you put some rubber band thing round it then it should be okay.

Do you have a rubber band thing on yours or does it work okay without it?

Also i think it was to do with the way you hold it.

Cheers

What reception issue............mine is fine, as is the OH's

What about the reception issues?, is just going to be something that comes with it until iphone 5 comes out?.
