Airphonic kit for wireless streaming

We've seen this Kleer wireless dongle before, on the Opera S5+ headphones. It's distributed by WireFreeHiFi, the same company behind this new Airphonic wirefree kit for iPads, iPods and iPhones.

This transmitter and receiver pairing are designed to transmit music wirelessly from an iPad, iPhone or iPod to an iPod docking system – particularly handy if you have an older dock that won't fit an iPad! Airphonic will work with Bose, JBL and Altec Lansing docks, among others. See here for compatible docks.

Using Kleer wireless audio technology, the system allows full bandwidth, non-compressed music streaming. It will handle Apple Lossless, WAV and AIFF music files.

The system consists of two small dongles, the S5T+ male transmitter, which connects to Apple devices using the standard 30-pin connector, and the female receiver version, the RX1 or RX1+, which fits in the dock.

You'll pay £79.95 for the S5T+/RX1 pairing, and £89.95 for the S5T+/RX1+ version. The latter adds iPhone and extra dock compatibility, plus streaming of Spotify, LastFM and YouTube.
