WHFSV ASEAN
What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision ASEAN

Readers in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei now have their own edition of the magazine: What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision ASEAN was launched on Saturday.

It joins our existing editions here in the UK and in France, India, Indonesia, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Spain and Thailand.

Published under licence by WHF Asia Pte Ltd, it has a cover price of 12 Singapore dollars. The company has initially launched in Singapore, with a print run of 10,000 copies, but plans to extend distribution to Malaysia and Brunei in the coming months.

Brand Director Clare Newsome says that "This launch, as with any new edition, is exciting for us because a whole new group of readers will find out why What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision is the most trusted and recognised buyers guide for consumer electronics."

Those new readers will join a worldwide readership already in excess of one million – and that's what makes us the world's number one home entertainment magazine.

Local licences take content from the UK magazine, but usually only that relevant to their local market.

They can also include local-market news, and can review products only available locally, but they can't give them star ratings.

As with all our overseas issues, the magazine will contain a mix of local content and our own reviews (adapted for local-market pricing).

Good news.

Will this have the exact same content as UK edition or regional..?

Whilst I'm not exactly sure the launch in one country and the promise of 2 more justifies the title ASEAN (!), it's certainly welcome that the cover price is more in line with the UK...It will be interesting to see if the Thais continue to distribute the standard UK English edition - at a near 10 street price - or bring the one up from Sing...Either way, I know it wont be 4.50 !
