02's iPhone exclusive due to end in October?

Is 02's exclusive grip on the Apple iPhone here in the UK about to end? And are Orange and T-Mobile all set to stock it?
There's been a lot of speculation about the exclusivity coming to an end, but now Mobile Entertainment is reporting that 02 will lose its sole partnership deal on October 9 this year.
It adds that Orange, which was the first to sell the iPhone elsewhere in Europe, and T-Mobile, currently the sole stockist in Germany, are thought to be poised to start offering the iPhone to UK customers.
02's deal with Apple is thought to run until 2012, but ME explains that the exclusivity only has a two-year term.
And it says it's seen documentation setting October 9 as the cut-off date, although its sources say 02 may keep sole rights to the iPhone 3G S.

If you have a pay as you go iPhone can that go on any network after that date or can you do that now
Would be good, a bit of competition should knock the price down to a more sensible level!
I knew this 3 weeks ago but problem is that T-mobil and Orange will not be offering 3GS version so kinda kills the point who wants last years model on any phone when the new versions released? No manufacture can get away with that so do not see why Apple should releasing last years model like its all new Just cause its on other networks. this is why I hate Apple. Also they are purposely holding back on specs just so they can use it to promote next years model like the camera quality wgich is poor. When other manufactures are set to offer 12 megapixel cameras.
Good news if it's true.
Maybe the Palm Pre exclusive contract will be of some comfort to O2.
This is great news if true. O2's exclusivity deal has lead to situation where they'r able to charge astronomical prices for the iPhone. A bit of competition will surely see those prices fall.
This is quite exciting. I'm very happy with O2, but their iPhone tariffs seem extortionate to me (I don't have an iPhone; yet). Maybe some competition will improve this!
Also, it's O2 (oh-two), not 02 (zero-two), as in the chemical symbol for oxygen.
I hope so!!!! - About time - hate been told that if you want an iphone you have to be on 02
